A Look At Female Infertility Treatment Options
It’s frustrating when you can’t seem to get pregnant, but what are the options? The right female infertility treatment can be difficult to determine. But it can be done and there is hope. We overcame our infertility and you can too. Infertility normally is not just a physical challenge. It is also an emotional and psychological challenge for women who want nothing more than to fulfill a dream and become a mom.
Finding the treatment that will be successful for you often involves a lot of research and experimentation to find the right medication, treatment plan, or program that will help you to achieve your goal. The first, and most important step will be to know a little about some of the treatments available and how they may help you.

There may be many reasons why a person is infertile and one fix certainly does not fit everyone. There may be physical issues involved, infertility may not have been an issue throughout your life, or there may be a combination of issues, including age that is causing the problem. While a general physician may be helpful, it will not be until you see a physician who specializes in infertility that you will be given a thorough examination and tests that will identify, or rule out, the issues. In addition, the physician will collect a detailed history of your background and health to identify any physical trauma that may have occurred that caused the infertility.
When the test results and evaluation has been completed, the fertility specialist will discuss the possible causes of your infertility and what options are available to address the issue. There are multiple treatments and combinations of treatment available for infertility and the decision on which treatment is right for you will be based primarily on your preferences and the most effective treatments for your condition.
The fertility specialist will normally start with the least invasive treatment program available. This will usually include a program to stimulate or assist your ovaries. In most cases, this will involve both oral medication and shots which you take at home when your eggs are released from the ovary. In some cases, the physician will also recommend a diet and exercise program for women who are overweight.
There are some instances when women have blocked fallopian tubes. The procedure to unblock the tubes is usually not considered an invasive surgery, however the physician will clear the blockage and this is sometimes the only reason for infertility and is often an out-patient procedure. This procedure is simple one that they inject a dye through the tubes, take pictures and ensure the dye has flowed through properly. We’ve done this procedure and it’s actually not painful or too invasive.
Another procedure that is conducted is invitro fertilization. We ended up doing this and got twins. This procedure is often conducted in the out-patient office. The eggs are removed from the female and fertilized in the lab. Following fertilization two or more fertilized eggs are implanted in the uterus in another in-patient procedure. This procedure can result in multiple births and physicians are careful to keep you informed of the progress and statistics related to the number of babies that you may have.
One of the results of reality shows has been the normalization of multiple births. However, it is important to remember that this procedure is not always successful and you may need to have the invitro procedure repeated before you are successful. The physician will explain in detail what the procedure is. But it is well worth it when you finally hold that baby in your arms.
